"I cannot stress how highly I recommend Ellen to make your perfectly customized wedding cake! At our initial meeting, after getting to know our personalities a bit and asking us what we like and don't like, she followed up with a meeting to taste sample cupcakes and see a draft of the cake design. What I loved about Crescendough Cakes is her openness and eagerness for our honest feedback. We told her what we liked about the tasting and what we wanted to change for the final cake. The end product was exactly what we wanted!
We had a 3-tier cake. The bottom layer was this incredibly moist banana cake with cream cheese frosting. The middle layer was DELICIOUS black sesame cake with white chocolate mousse frosting. This was a huge hit at the wedding! The black sesame was unexpected to most guests but because I love black sesame ice cream, I really wanted it and she nailed the flavor. And then our top layer.... Crescendough Cakes must have done this over and over until perfection was reached because my now husband was asking for a very unique flavor! They were able to somehow make a crema concoction that tasted just like his favorite artificial melon flavor (melona). We were so impressed! And finally, the sheet cake for guests was coffee cake with nutella because I'm obsessed with both. My ONLY regret is that I didn't even get to try a slice of that cake!! They were gone before I could even blink. But if the moistness and flavor balance was anything like the other layers, I'm satisfied.
We opted for the fondant because it just looks nice and clean. Ellen is a pro at making flowers from icing and I swear it must have taken months to make all of them! They looked gorgeous. And the best part were the cake toppers! She customized a bride "bear" and groom "raven" for us since I'm from Chicago and he's from Baltimore, hence we are Bears and Ravens fans. It was perfect for us and I'm glad it put a fun twist to the cake.
All in all, for a person who doesn't get very excited about dessert, I absolutely loved our wedding cake. We saved the top tier in the freezer but have already eaten half of it. :)"

"Thank you so much for making my DREAM CUPCAKE-WEDDING CAKE A REALITY!!! Everyone has not stopped raving about the exotic flavors; the ginger with green tea frosting was a favorite. But my favorite was the gluten-free banana chocolate-chip with cinnamon frosting!!! Ellen, you put your heart and soul into this cake and everyone loved it. What was so great was that we got to freeze the leftovers!!!! Thanks for going the extra mile and using the freshest of ingredients; this was one cake I did not feel guilty about eating! Love you and we will definitely be using your amazing talents for many more years to come!!!"
